Your NEET score decides more than you think
For MBBS abroad, you only need to qualify NEET (around 138 for General category as per recent cutoffs). But your actual score still matters — it shapes which countries and universities give you the best long-term outcomes, scholarships, and even PG opportunities.
Score band: 550+ — Aim high
With 550+, you're on the borderline of an Indian government seat. If you miss it, consider countries with globally portable degrees:
- Germany — nearly free tuition, but requires German language (B2/C1)
- Poland and Hungary — EU degrees, strong USMLE/PLAB track record
- Georgia's top universities like Tbilisi State Medical University
Score band: 400–550 — Best of both worlds
This is the sweet spot for premium options abroad:
- Russia — top government universities like Kazan Federal and Sechenov
- Georgia — 100% English medium, European lifestyle, no entrance exams
- Kazakhstan — NMC-approved universities at ₹20–30 lakhs total
Score band: 138–400 — Plenty of solid choices
Qualifying NEET opens dozens of NMC-approved universities:
- Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan — lowest total costs (₹18–28 lakhs)
- Russia — regional government universities
- Nepal — closest to home, similar curriculum to India
